Warranty Claims Process
All products from PES Supply carry full OEM warranties. Warranty terms vary by manufacturer and product type. PES Supply passes through the manufacturer's warranty — we do not provide additional warranty coverage beyond what the manufacturer offers.
Typical Warranty Periods
Solar panels: 25-year linear performance warranty (most manufacturers)
Inverters: 10-12 years standard (some manufacturers offer extensions)
Batteries: 5-10 years depending on manufacturer and chemistry
Generators: 2-5 years parts-only (varies by manufacturer)
HVAC equipment: 5-10 years parts-only (varies by manufacturer)
Important Warranty Conditions
Licensed Installer Required
Electrical, solar, generator, and HVAC equipment must be installed by a licensed professional. Improper installation may void the manufacturer warranty. PES Supply cannot honor warranty claims for equipment damaged by improper installation.
Parts-Only Warranty (HVAC & Generators)
HVAC and generator warranties typically cover parts only. Labor costs for diagnosis, removal, and replacement are the responsibility of the installer or end-user. PES Supply does not cover labor costs.
Generator Fuel/Oil Rule
Generators that have been fueled or oiled cannot be returned or shipped back due to federal shipping regulations. Do not add fuel or oil to a generator if you may need to return it. Once fueled, the equipment is non-returnable.
HVAC Refrigerant Handling
Federal law prohibits opening HVAC refrigerant lines without proper EPA certification. Only licensed HVAC contractors should handle refrigerant. Customers who are not EPA-certified cannot legally open refrigerant lines, and doing so may void the warranty.
Warranty Registration
Many battery and inverter manufacturers require warranty registration within a specific period (e.g., 30 days to 1 year of purchase) and proof of purchase from an authorized distributor. PES Supply is an authorized distributor for all brands we carry. Please register your products promptly to ensure full warranty coverage.
Authorized Distributor Requirement
Some manufacturers only honor warranties when the product was purchased from an authorized distributor. PES Supply is an authorized distributor for all brands we carry. Purchasing from unauthorized sellers may void your warranty.
How to File a Warranty Claim
Contact PES Supply — provide your order number, product model, serial number, and a description of the issue.
We will open a claim with the manufacturer — PES Supply will facilitate the warranty process with the manufacturer on your behalf.
Manufacturer review — the manufacturer will review the claim and determine coverage. PES Supply does not make warranty determinations — we facilitate the process.
Resolution — if approved, the manufacturer will provide repair, replacement, or credit per their warranty terms. Turnaround time varies by manufacturer.
What Is NOT Covered

Damage from shipping (see our Shipping & Delivery guide for damage claim procedures)
Products purchased from unauthorized sellers
Products installed by unlicensed individuals
Manufacturer Warranty Registration Deadlines
Many manufacturers require product registration within a specific window after installation. Failure to register may reduce or void warranty coverage:
Enphase: Registration within 45 days of installation (some states exempt)
Daikin: Registration within 60 days of installation (10-year warranty; 12-year on some tiers)
Mitsubishi Electric: Registration within 90 days of installation (12-year warranty requires Diamond Contractor installation)
Generac: Warranty begins upon successful activation of the unit
Sonnen: Warranty is non-transferable without written authorization
PES Supply is an authorized distributor for all brands we carry. Purchasing from unauthorized sellers (eBay, Amazon third-party, surplus dealers) may void manufacturer warranty entirely. Daikin explicitly voids warranty on equipment purchased over the internet unless installed by a licensed dealer.
Installer Certification & Warranty Tiers
Some manufacturers tie warranty length to the installer certification level:
Mitsubishi: 5-7 year standard to 10-year with registration to 12-year requires Diamond Contractor or Ductless Pro
Briggs & Stratton: 7-year standard to 10-year on dealer-exclusive (DX) SKUs
Generac: All warranty repairs must be performed by an Authorized/Certified Generac Service Dealer
Sonnen: Requires Certified System Designer + Certified Installer; labor covered only with pre-approved Warranty Labor Work Ticket
Enphase: Warranty activation date tied to permission to operate from the local authority having jurisdiction
Firmware & Connectivity Conditions
Sonnen: Requires continuous internet connection (min 16 MBit download / 1 MBit upload) as a warranty condition
Enphase: Warranty voided if product is not running current firmware, or if the utility Grid Profile was altered
Advise customers to keep connected products online and updated to maintain warranty coverage.
Accessory & Application Restrictions
Generac: Warranty voided if a non-Generac transfer switch causes damage. Non-OEM parts that cause damage are excluded.
Generac: Excludes Prime Power, Trailer Mounted, and Rental applications
Daikin: Commercial applications downgraded to 5-year warranty (vs. 10-year residential)
Southwire: Warranty voided if products are rented or leased
