Freight Shipping
Heavy items — solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, racking systems — require freight shipping. Freight quotes are estimates until confirmed by the carrier. Actual freight charges may vary based on final weight, dimensions, and accessorials.
Freight Quote Estimates & Carrier-Billed Accessorials
The following carrier-billed charges may apply and are billed by the carrier directly to the customer:
Residential delivery surcharge
Liftgate service fee (for items over 150 lbs without a forklift/dock)
Limited-access fee (schools, construction sites, rural, ferry-only)
Delivery appointment / redelivery fee
Detention / storage fees (if unloading is delayed)
Inside delivery (if requested — not standard)
Re-consignment / address change fee

Curbside Delivery Boundary
Standard freight delivery is curbside only. The driver will lower product to the curb. The driver will not move product into a driveway, garage, backyard, or inside a building. The customer or installer is responsible for moving product from curbside to the installation location.
Residential vs Commercial Delivery
Residential delivery: Requires an appointment and generally includes liftgate for items over 150 lbs. Someone must be present to receive and sign.
Commercial delivery: Attempted during business hours at a commercial address with a dock or forklift. Does not include liftgate.
Lithium Battery & Hazmat Shipping
Lithium batteries are Class 9 hazardous materials. Hazmat surcharges may apply and are billed per package.
Ground shipping only for most lithium batteries. Air/expedited shipping is restricted and may not be available for all battery products.
Orders of 4+ batteries may automatically ship via freight (pallet) rather than ground parcel.
Continental US only for hazmat battery shipments. Alaska, Hawaii, and international shipments require custom quotes and may not be possible.
Battery returns require pallet shipping with proper hazmat packaging. Original packaging required or a packaging fee may apply.
Backorders & Split Shipments
Orders with backordered items may be held to ship complete, or may ship in split shipments at PES Supply's discretion. Backorder dates are estimates and are not guaranteed. We recommend not scheduling installation until all products have been received.
Delivery Inspection
Inspect your shipment before signing the delivery receipt. Note any damage, shortage, or discrepancy on the bill of lading while the driver is present. Take photos of any damage. If you sign without noting damage, the carrier may deny claims later. For concealed damage discovered after delivery, report it within 24-48 hours.
Substitutions
PES Supply will never substitute a product without explicit customer approval. If an exact item is unavailable, we will offer alternatives and let you choose.
