Claims & Return Policy

PES Supply maintains a strict returns policy consistent with industry standards for electrical and solar supply houses.

Items NOT Eligible for Return

  • Products that have been opened, installed, or used

  • Solar Energy Products, Pumps, Motors, Electrical Items, and Transmissions — we cannot accept returns on these even when the product is functioning properly. This is a manufacturer requirement.

  • Special-order, custom, or built-to-order items — these are non-cancellable and non-returnable once the order is placed with the manufacturer.

  • Generators that have been fueled or oiled — federal shipping regulations prohibit the transport of fueled/oiled equipment. Once fuel or oil has been added, the generator cannot be shipped back under any circumstances.

  • Cut-to-length wire, custom cables, and assembled harnesses — these cannot be restocked once cut.

  • Fuses, circuit breakers, and life-safety devices — these are non-returnable for safety and code compliance reasons.

  • Opened or installed HVAC equipment — including mini-splits, furnaces, and condensers with refrigerant lines opened.

  • Lithium batteries that have been installed, charged, or had their BMS activated — battery returns must be shipped on a pallet with proper hazmat packaging. Original packaging is required or a packaging fee may apply.

Return Authorization Required

All returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Contact PES Supply within 30 days of delivery to request an RMA. Returns without an RMA will be refused.

Restocking Fees

  • A restocking fee may apply to approved returns. The exact fee depends on the product category and manufacturer policy.

  • Standard electrical items: Up to 25% restocking fee

  • Solar panels and inverters: Up to 25% restocking fee

  • Special-order items: Non-returnable (see above)

  • Return freight charges are the responsibility of the customer.

Refused Shipments

If a shipment is refused at delivery, the customer may be responsible for outbound freight charges, return freight charges, and any applicable restocking fees. Refusing delivery is not a substitute for a proper return.

Damaged or Defective Items

If your product arrives damaged or defective, please see our Warranty Claims Process article. Do not refuse delivery for concealed damage — note the damage on the delivery receipt and contact us immediately.

"Free Shipping" Orders

If an order qualified for free shipping at the time of purchase, actual outbound and return freight charges may still be deducted from any refund, even if the original shipping was free.

Cancellation Policy

Orders may be cancelled if they have not yet shipped. Once an order has shipped, it is subject to the return policy above. Special-order and custom items cannot be cancelled once placed with the manufacturer.
